LaRue married actor John O’Hurley in 1992 and got divorced two years later. In 1993, Eva LaRue landed a role as Dr. Maria Santos Grey in the long-time running daytime drama, “All My Children,” becoming a regular cast until 1997 and again from 2002 to 2005. For her work on AMC, Eva LaRue received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” and “Outstanding Original Song” for composing the AMC song “Dance Again with You,” which was used in the lovemaking scene of her character Dr. Grey and Edmund’s third marriage.
In November 1996, Eva LaRue married her “All My Children” on-screen husband Edmund, portrayed by John Callahan. The couple co-hosted Lifetime TV’s “Television Weddings of a Lifetime” and the Miss America pageant. On December 2001, Eva and John welcomed their first child, daughter Kaya McKenna Callahan. In 2004, Eva became a weekend anchor for the TV tabloid show, “Extra!” and won a Gracie Allen Award for “Individual Achievement as Lead Actor in Daytime Drama.”
In 2005, LaRue made her last appearance on “All My Children” and finalized her divorce with John Callahan. She then continued her role as George Lopez’s sister on the TV sitcom “George Lopez” and joined the CBS hit series “CSI: Miami,” portraying Natalia Boa Vista from season 4 onwards.
Aside from her prominent role in “All My Children,” Eva LaRue also guest-starred in various TV shows, including “Freddie’s Nightmares,” “Married…with Children,” “They came from outer space,” “Dallas,” “Dark Justice,” “Nurses,” “Diagnosis Murder,” “Soldier of Fortune, Inc.,” “Third Watch,” “Soul Food” and Kelly Ripa’s “Hope & Faith.” Eva LaRue also appeared in the made-for-TV autobiography “Mouseketeer” and the TV adaptation of “Remembrance.” Eva also modeled for Fredericks of Hollywood back in the early 1990s. LaRue and her daughter Kaya starred in a music video for a Devon Gundry song entitled “Armed.”
In September 2008, Eva LaRue was seen alongside Samuel L. Jackson in the MGM thriller flick “Lakeview Terrace” and on the 7th season of CSI: Miami. Her first album entitled “Only You” is for sale exclusively on LaRue’s official website, evalarue.com.
